Loughborough Students' Archery Club - About |
|
Loughborough Students Archery Club Loughborough Students Archery Club was formed many years ago in the dim and distant past (at some point in the 1970's we believe), so long ago in fact that none of the current members, even though some of them seem to have been around forever, can remember exactly when. We exist as part of Loughborough Students' Union Athletic Union. We are open to all members of Loughborough University including staff, all members of Loughborough College, all members of Loughbough R.N.I.B College and Life members of Loughborough Students Union, but we regret that we are unable to accept members from the local community (please visit the GNAS or Leicestershire County websites to find your nearest public archery club). The aims of the club are very simple: to promote the sport of archery in all its forms, and to represent Loughborough University to the best of our ability whilst, at the same time, having FUN!! The club can, and has, catered for all standards of archer from complete beginners to international level archers. We provide all the equipment that you'll need to start shooting and can provide free coaching if required. All archers are encouraged to shoot in competions but don't worry about your scores as they will increase amazingly quickly. We compete reguarly in a local league of 7 university clubs called BUTTS, 2 BUSA Championships (1 indoor and 1 outdoor), and we hope to be going to the Isle of Man again this year to compete. The membership fee for the 2007-2008 academic year is £47.00 (+£10.00 Athletic Union Membership). Please contact the Committee if you are interested in joining us. For the purposes of GNAS dress regulations as of October 2007 the club colours are defined as: the club polo or t-shirt (black with purple panels); the club fleece (purple with logo on back); and black trousers, shorts or skirt. For more information, you can read the club's Constitution and Code of Practice (both are PDF files). |
